| GUIDELINES AND DUTIES FOR VOLUNTEERS |

| |
| 1. Volunteers are to be used in such a way that they assist a staff member. |
| 2. Volunteers work under the direction of the Regional Library Manager, Customer services Librarians or Library Officers. |
| 3. Desk duties are only assigned if the volunteer is:
School or TAFE student on work experience
Part of a field work requirement in a Library qualification course
Graduate students of Librarianship who wish to gain additional skills

4. The following are a list of tasks that may be assigned to volunteers:
Processing of Library material including:
i. Stamping cancelled books
ii. Covering
ii. Copying cassette covers
iv. Repair of books after instruction from regional staff
Assist with activities and display work in Branch Libraries by:
i. Helping with signs
ii. Photocopying material as required
ii. Assist with children at activities
Assist to keep the Library in a neat state, including shelving

| 5. Other tasks assigned by the Regional Library Manager or Customer Services Librarians or the Regional Library Committee. |
